The Cosy Edit

After a wonderful summer in the South West, autumn seems to have arrived almost overnight. As the night’s draw in its time to fire-up the wood burner and get cosy. Here’s our top tips for creating a warm and welcoming home.

Low lights, candles and reflective surfaces

USB rechargeable lights are a great way to add a soft focus to a room. They make it easy to light up a neglected corner and along with candles and the reflective surfaces from vases or trinket trays, they create a cosy feel to a room.

Cushions, throws, rugs and mats

Load sofa arms and chairs with throws and cushions. An easy way to add colour and soften the hard lines of heavy furniture. We love mixing textures such as linen, wool and velvet. Use rugs under tables and mats by the hob and sink to create softness underfoot and reduce noise on hard floors.  .

Wood and natural materials

Even if you don’t have a wood burner or open fire, wicker and wood accessories will add a sense of warmth to your home. Forage for autumnal foliage, dried grasses and mix with good faux flowers for lasting, seasonal displays.
